China household air conditioning industry shipments reached 97,514,000 units during the period of August 2017 – July 2018, with growth rate of 18.8%.

Reviewing the development trend in latest decade, the adjustment period will appear every 2-3 years.  Due to the policy impact, the industry reached the top in 2012.  Because of low price of raw materials and low level of stock, the increase continued in row of 2013-2015, but decrease in 2016.  Now, with the increased demand, the household air conditioning industry recovered in 2017-2018.

In 2018, the whole industry was changing, especially in product structure and refrigerants.  The proportion of R32 products increased 61.3% to over 20 million units, but R410a products still dominated the market due to the expansion of inverters, despite of price fluctuation and lack of lubricant oil.  R32 and R410a will be widely used with the phase down of R22.

The industry will enter a modest state and predicate to decrease 8.9% in the next year.  This is acceptable by manufacturers and brings them an adjustment opportunity and time, which will benefit the long term development.
