Co-released by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Water Resources of China and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, "Water efficiency label management" was officially implemented on March 1^st.  The Management will promote high efficient and water saving products application, improve water utilization ratio, advance water saving technology, enhance people's water saving awareness and push the healthy development of China water saving products industry.

Water efficiency label includes efficiency levels of 1-5 and water consumption amount confirmed by related national test standards.  Level 1 is the highest and Level 3 or 5 represent the different market thresholds.

The Management is applied to many water consumption products, such as water closets, water taps and water purifiers.  The submission procedure is self-declaration, documents submission and supervision.  Manufacturers’ self-declaration is the main feature of the Management, which means the manufactures can test the efficiency by themselves and confirmed the information according to related results and standards.
