By the end of 2019, both of production and shipment of hermetic compressor showed continuous increase.  The data from ChinaIOL indicated that by the end of 3rd Quarter, the production and shipment of hermetic compressors in China increased 10.0% and 8.3% to 139, 367,000 units and 139,288,000 units, respectively, higher than 5.2% growth rate of 2018.
Facing the slowdown of refrigerator market, the hermetic compressor manufacturers actively expanded international market and continually launched new products.

Export drove industry increase
China is a largest hermetic compressor manufacturer in the world.  In 2019, the production capacity of China hermetic compressor closed to 0.26 billion units, account for 70% of the world market.  The percentage of shipment is increasing in recent years.
From January to September of 2019, the export of hermetic compressor increased 16.7% to 50,208,000, with a small seasonal difference.
US-China trade war brought many uncertainties, but the growth rate of total export to North America was near to 25%, with 70% for Mexico and -18% for US.

Products showcase
The shipments of Inverter compressor and light commercial compressor showed 2-digital increase.
High efficiency and intelligence are the main trends of inverter refrigerators in latest years, which further expanded the demand of inverter hermetic compressors.  According to the statistics, the shipment of inverter hermetic compressors increased 27.6% to 25,610,000 units, with 45% for export.

The development trend will not change, although the growth rate of inverter compressor slowed down in latest two years.  The energy saving targets in “Technical roadmap of household appliances” indicates that by 2025, comparing with the level of 2019, the energy efficiency of refrigerator will increase 25% and application of inverter compressor should account for 50%, which describe a wide development space for inverter refrigerators in the future.
From January to September of 2019, the total shipment of light commercial compressors increased 20% to 958,000,000 units, higher growth rate than the those of the whole industry and household products, with 90% for domestic market.
Now, the total market of light commercial compressors is still small, but it has great potential with the development of China economy and improvement of consuming quality which driving the demand of light commercial refrigerating products.

The popular refrigerant in light commercial compressor is R290.  The data showed that R290 refrigerant accounted for 28% in 2018 and estimated to about 34% in 2019.
