20 million SQMs of heat pump heating areas added next 3 years in Beijing
Beijing government will promote heat pump technology deployment in Tongzhou of Beijing, Daxing International Airport and rural area. By 2022, the heat pump heating areas will reach 80 million SQMs, accounting for 8% of the total heating areas in Beijing. In recent, eight departments including Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform and Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources co-released and implemented “Opinions on further accelerating heat pump system application to improve clean heating”.
The Opinions clarifies the renewable energy development roadmap in new districts including Tongzhou, Daxing and Airport economic zone. By 2022, the new added heat pump heating areas will be around 7.5 million SQMs.
The representative from Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform said that accelerating heat pump heating application will expand the renewable energy utilization scales, which benefit the energy mix transformation to low carbon energy and lead to creative energy updating.
Heat pump uses electricity as power to transform low grade heat energy to high qualified energy, featuring high efficient and environment protective and over COP 3.0, which can be supplementary and replacement of coal and gas.
It is estimated that by 2022, the total 80 million SQMs of heat pump heating areas can reduce fossil energy consumption equivalent to 1 million tons of standard coal and 2.4 million tons of CO2 emission, actively improving the environment and reducing pollutants emission.
Heat pump system will obtain the subsidies from government, especially residential buildings. 30% and 50% of financial supports will be given to new, retrofitting systems of heat pump and waste-heat heat pump systems and retrofitting projects of coal-fired and gas-fired boilers.
