2018 is a roller caster year for China commercial air conditioning compressor market.  In the first half year, the whole industry developed very well, with all products increasing and new shipments records.  In the second half year, the whole industry entered an adjustment period, with transformation and upgrading of commercial air conditioning compressor market.

The data showed that the domestic shipments of 3-7hp AC compressors were 3,728,000 during the first three quarters of 2018, with growth rate of 9.8% comparing with the same period of previous year.  Among them, the shipments of 3-7hp rotary compressors decreased 7.8% to 1,565,000 units and rotate compressors increased 27.5% to 2,163,000 units.

Since 2010, the proportion of 3-7hp rotate compressors increased 58% from initial 6%, which meant that rotary compressors were no longer in the leading position.  The share of rotate compressor will increase in the future light commercial air conditioning industry due to its scaled cost and self assembly system.

For the products over 7hp, the rotary compressor was still a dominator.  The data showed that the domestic shipments of over 7hp air conditioning rotary compressors increased 26.9% to 954,000 units, which are mostly applied to commercial multi split, modular unit, AC for computer room and water-cooled unit.

The high and stable increase of the terminal products contributed to the market development.  Considering cost and performance, it also adopted parallel rotary compressor instead of small screw compressor.

With more and more air conditioner manufacturers launched high cooling capacity multi splits and modular products, the rotary compressors welcomed a more bright development.  During the first three quarters, the shipments of over 15hp rotary compressors doubled to 137,000 units.  The share of over 7hp rotary compressors increased 14.4% from 9.3%.
