On September 20 of 2016, Data center—Resource utilization—Part 3: Electric energy usage effectiveness requirements and measuring methods (GB/T 32910.3-2016) officially launched.

The Standard stipulates the measure and calculation method of electric energy usage effectiveness (EEUE) and clarifies the power energy efficiency requirements on data centers in China.  It establishes five grades of high efficient, efficient, qualified, higher energy consumed and highest energy consumed based on EEUE value.  Meanwhile, fully considering China’s practical conditions, it sets up an energy efficiency adjustment model, in order to balance the gaps between different cooling technologies, using load rates, security levels and climate regions.  The model can compare with different data centers, so as to form a unified comparison standard.

The Standard will promote the greener and healthier development of data center industry.
