Standard for Building’s Carbon Emission Measuring
Announced by China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, a first Chinese-English bilingual standard – “Standard for measuring accounting and reporting of carbon emission from buildings” (CECS 374: 2104) implemented on December 1st of 2014.
Learned from the related international standards and practical experience, and based on the features and carbon control demands of carbon emission activities in the buildings of China, the Standard adopts methodology of all-life carbon footprint tracking to standardize emission data collection, check and release, and regulates the calculation of CO2 emission from energy consumption, resource and materials in the different life stages of buildings, including new, retrofit and existing buildings. The Standard is also applied to other greenhouse gases measuring controlled by “The Kyoto Protocol”.
