There will a great change to the national mandatory standard on air conditioner energy efficiency implementing for 14 years.  The revised air conditioner energy efficiency standard expects to be released by the end of this year, which will unify the energy grades of fixed speed unit and inverter.  The new standard will further promote the energy saving and emission reduction progress of air conditioners.

It is said that, the new standard will be officially implemented in 2020, no doubt, which will accelerate the market integration and enterprises development.

The new standard will also have 5 grades.  The current Grade 1 of fix speed unit is down to Grade 4 (high energy consumption) in the new standard and Grade 2 of fix speed unit is equal to Grade 5 (entry level).  Meanwhile, the current Grade 1 of inverter air conditioner is equal to Grade 2, and so on.

This is the first time to unify the energy efficiency standard for fix speed and inverter air conditioners in the past ten years, which will further speed up to phase out low efficient fix speed air conditioner and promote and popularize high efficient air conditioner.

Because the test for air conditioner energy efficiency is easily influenced by environment, temperature, equipment and inspectors, the government departments also released the allowable error and fluctuation, in order to encourage more manufacturers to increase the energy efficiency.
