Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China (MOHURD) approved “Technical code for building intelligent system operation and maintenance” (Standard) as an industrial standard which will be implemented on Oct. 1, 2017.

The Standard is applied to the new and retrofitting building intelligent systems, which will change the status of lack of technical regulations and disorder of management and lead to high operation efficiency and management quality.

This February, China State Council released “Opinions on promoting sustainable and health development of building industry”, which proposed to push the industrial modernization, popularize intelligent and prefabricated buildings, strengthen the technology development and application and improve the related standards.

This April, MOHURD released “Building industry development: Thirteenth Five-year plan”, which suggested to popularize the intelligent systems and operation and maintenance mechanism, strengthen the standardization and push the building energy saving and green building development.

The Standard is an active response to the “Thirteenth Five-year Plan”.
