ACR News Awards off to a flying start
Entries now ‘open’
Next year’s ACR News Awards, which takes place on Wednesday 17th February at the Vox Conference Centre Birmingham, is already off to a flying start, with leading names signed up to sponsor various aspects of the event.
Commenting on the sponsorship opportunities available to brands, ACR News’ Steve Bennion said: “The ACR News Awards represents a fantastic opportunity for companies to reach a targeted and highly engaged audience, while showing their support for the industry. Samsung, Bitzer, Hawco, Smiths Brothers Stores, Cool Designs, Advanced Engineering and First Choice Refrigeration Spares are supporting the event, which taking place alongside the ACR Show, looks set to draw an impressive number of people.”
“Bitzer UK Ltd is supporting the ACR news awards by sponsoring the Alan Moor Award,” managing director Kevin Glass has announced. “Alan was very well respected within the industry; he was always very supportive of the newcomers whether that was people or technology. He like many others started at the bottom and worked his way to the top in his 40 years in the industry making a lot of friends.
“The ACR News Awards fit with Alan’s reputation as it was the first (newcomer) in the industry starting at the bottom and working its way to the top.”
Advanced Engineering is sponsoring the table plan and place cards. Asked why the company is investing in the event, marketing manager Andy Harvey said he was in no doubt of the event’s credentials: “We believe in recognising excellence within our industry and the ACR News Award excels in this aim,” he said.
Cool Designs is a long standing supporter of the ACR News Awards. “We’ve supported the successful ACR News Awards casino for a few years now,” said Darrell Birkett, adding: “There was never a moment’s hesitation when asked to do so again, supporting such a high profile industry event – more so when we have agreed it shall again raise awareness of a charity we support.”

The Customer Service Award, now in its third year, is aimed specifically at ‘frontline’ staff – those people on the ground who deal with customers on site or on the telephone. Anyone working within the field of air conditioning and refrigeration can take part, whether they are the accounts clerk, receptionist, apprentice, engineer or company owner. They will then be subject to an industry vote.
