Research on data centers (8) : Water resource utilization
摘要：
数据中心能源消耗大，清洁水消耗量也不容忽视。介绍了地球水资源的现状，给出了水利用效率WUE的定义和计算方法，指出了计算数据中心水耗量应注意的事项。实测数据表明，我国数据中心的水利用指标明显低于国际先进水平，有待提高。认为有多种方法可以明显降低数据中心的水耗量，值得深入研究、应用和推广。
Abstract：
The energy consumption in a data center is huge and the clean water consumption cannot be ignored. Presents the water resource status in the earth. Provides the definition and calculation method of water use efficiency (WUE). Points out the matters needed to pay attention in calculating the water consumption of data centers. The measured data show that WUE of data centers in China is obviously lower than the advanced international level, which needs to be improved. There are many ways to significantly reduce the water consumption of data centers, which is worth further studying, applying and promoting.
