| China energy mix is changing from coal as majority to multi energy mode. Ground-source heat pump (GSHP) utilizes geothermal energy to supply heat and cold for buildings, which is a kind of high efficient and environment protective system. In recent years, China has launched many incentives to encourage the application of shallow geothermal energy to buildings. Comparing with the fluctuation and indirection features of wind and solar energy, GSHP can satisfy the increased demand of heating, cooling and domestic hot water due to its reliability. By the end of 2017, the installation capacity of China GSHP reached 20,000 MW and heating and cooling building areas achieved 0.5 billion SQMs. |

New opportunities in China central air conditioning industry According to "Analysis report on demand prediction and investment strategy of China central air conditioning industry", the retail market were 114.7 billion yuan and 33.22 million units in the first half of 2018, increased by 15.5% and 11.5%, respectively. Looking at the room air conditioners market, Gree was still the top 1 with 17.03% of share, followed by Midea with 15.29%. In 2018, although macro policies such as real estate control impacted on some of products, the whole central air conditioning market is facing many development opportunities. China air cleaners to reach 22.8 billion yuan in 2018 According to the data, the comprehensive annual growth rate (CAGR) of China air cleaner in 2012-2014 was 50% and slowed down after the adjustment in 2015, but the momentum is still strong, with 35% CAGR in "Thirteenth Five-year Plan", to 22.8 billion yuan of market scale in 2018. In recent years, many cities in China suffered from serious air pollute problems, which also spurred the development of air cleaner market. In 2016, China air cleaners retail market was 5.7 million units and 14.19 billion yuan. It is expected to reach 7.56 million units and 19.14 billion yuan in 2018. Local clean heating roadmaps Multi government departments promoted the clean heating demonstrations in winter in North China, which includes Handan, Xingtai, Zhangjiakou, Cangzhou, Yangquan, Changzhi, Jincheng, Jinzhong, Yuncheng, Linfen, lvliang, Zibo, Jining, Binzhou, dezhou, Liaocheng, Heze, Luoyang, Jiaozuo, Puyang, Xi'an and Xianyang. China still lacks natural gas and the natural gas dependency is increased from 38%to 43.3% in the first half year of 2018. The demand of clean energy in rural area is increasing because of the lack of grid. |
