In the first half of 2016, multi splits continuously dominated China HVAC market with growth rate of 22.1%, according to HVACR INFO. Although the whole market continues to shrink, multi splits still have won more shares depending on its convenient installation and flexible billing. The manufacturers accelerated the products upgrading and technologies promoting, including performance, efficiency and new refrigerants. Now, Dakin is still a leading multi splits producer in China, followed by Qingdao Hitachi, Midea and Gree.
• Technology features and advantages of large independent multi split units
• Multi split application to large space air conditioning system
• Impact of lubricants on performance of chiller units

Training course: HVAC in healthcare industry
With the development of medical technology and control theory, the operating rooms in China and worldwide developed rapidly and new type of operating rooms and auxiliary buildings are emerging. New requirements and evaluation methods are needed to accurately control the environment of operating room, including layout, system and medical equipments, which have become the difficulties for designers, researchers and engineers, especially the implementation of "Architectural technical code for hospital clean operating department" (GB 50333-2013). How to properly understand the concept of the code, legitimately interpret and implement measures do require the further study and improvement.

India: Three New Standards – One Each for Vacuum Tube Collectors, Storage Tanks and Complete Systems
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has published new regulations on all-glass evacuated solar collector tubes and related storage tanks of non-concentrating solar collector systems. Indian Standard (IS) 16542: 2016 describes the storage tank’s specifications, IS 16543 : 2016 names the ones for tubes, and IS 16544 : 2016 covers the ones for complete systems. According to the statistics available from the Central Board of Excise and Customs, India imports close to 4 million tubes annually, including those which are part of complete systems imported into the country.

Four new refrigerants seek ASHRAE approval
The number of potential new lower GWP refrigerants continues to rise with four more proposed for inclusion in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 34-2013. The new refrigerants are an Arkema blend R459A and three Mexichem blends R459B, R460A and R460B. Arkema’s R459A mixes R32, 1234yf and 1234ze(E) in proportions of 68%/ 26%/6%. The Mexichem refrigerant R459B is a blend of the same refrigerants but in very different proportions: 21% R32, 69% R1234yf and 10% R1234ze. The proportions of R460A are very different: 12% R-32, 52% R125, 14% R134a and 22% R1234ze(E). The R460B is blend of 28% R32, 25% 125, 20% 134a and 27% R1234ze(E).
