Measures the resistance and weight efficiency of the air filter samples on an experimental platform. Investigates the variation of the resistance and efficiency of the samples with the dust accumulation. Calculates the energy consumption of the filters using the energy efficiency calculation method in Eurovent 4/11. Finds that the power consumption cost of the filter increases with the increase of service time and filter resistance. Determines the replacement time of the air filter by analysing the replacement cost, operation power cost and comprehensive cost. The calculation results show that the actual service life of the filter is longer than that specified in the GB/T 14295-2008 standard. For the air filters in general civil buildings, the replacement cost of unit air rate and the operation power consumption cost should be comprehensively considered to determine the replacement time of filters.
