In order to solve the problem of local environmental hot spots in the existing data rooms, presents a new air conditioning system with coupled convective and radiative heat transfer. Develops a numerical model, simulates the air conditioning system in a typical data room, and then verifies the reliability of the model by comparing the simulation results with the experimental data. Compares the flow fields and the cooling performance of the new air conditioning system with those of the traditional air conditioning system. The results indicate that with the new air conditioning system, the inlet air temperature distribution of different racks are much more uniform at the same air supply temperature. The supply air temperature of the new air conditioning system can increase by 2 ℃ when satifying the cooling requirement of ASHRAE standard, which obviously reduces the PUE value of the data center. The radiant plate of the new air conditioning system is demonstrated to be effective to solve the local hot spot problem, and a surface temperature of 31 ℃ is recommended for a better cooling effect and energy saving performance.
