Taking the all outdoor air conditioning system of an animal experiment center as an example, analyses the consideration of humidity control in the design stage. Combining EnergyPlus, an energy consumption simulation software, explores the practical influence of humidity on the operating phase of an air conditioning system. By comparing the simulated and measured values, finds that the required cooling capacity to meet the design requirements is 42% higher than the measured cooling capacity, indicating that the actual operation fails to meet the design requirements. Further calculating the output sensible heat ratio of the air conditioning system, finds that the actual output sensible heat ratio of the equipment is 0.374 under some certain conditions, which is higher than the design sensible heat ratio of 0.355, resulting in the deviation of the actual indoor parameters from the design value. The influence of humidity should be considered in the design stage, especially at the high latent heat load.
