Studies the influence of ventilation during non-heating period on heating energy consumption of an intermittent heating room by means of field measurement. The results show that the temperature of thermal mass decreases during non-heating period, which leads to the increase of heat absorption intensity of thermal mass and higher energy consumption during the reheating period; the non-heating duration and indoor heat capacity have great influence on the heat release of thermal mass during non-heating period, but little on the increasing rate of heating energy consumption caused by ventilation; there is no linear relationship between the air change rate during the non-heating period and the increasing rate of heating energy consumption. The heating energy consumption increases by 4% to 7% when the air change rate is less than 4 h-1, but it is as high as 28% to 31% when the air change rate is increased up to 6.8 h-1.
