No.6
The new version of "Design standard for energy efficiency of public buildings" (GB50189-2015) was officially carried out on Oct.1st, 2015. In this issue, many articles introduced the revised contents, including typical database, energy efficiency evaluation methods, mandatory indexes requirements and improved IPLV calculation, etc..
• Research on revision principle and methodology of Design standard for energy efficiency of public buildings
• Study and improvement of envelope trade-off option in Design standard for energy efficiency of public buildings
• Methodology of determining minimum energy efficiency requirements for chillers

October issue is special for solar technology. Solar energy is one of the clean and sustainable resources that can produces heat, light, power and cool. Until the end of 2014, China solar thermal market capacity has reached to 410 million square meters, without sufficient incentives comparing with PV and wind. But it will have a great potential space for solar in the process of energy framework adjustment during the thirteenth “Five-year Plan” in china.
• Research on solar-gas boiler heating system technology
• Case study: Hybrid heating system solution
• Towards net zero energy solar buildings – IEA SHC position paper

Thumbs up for the energy label
26 September 2015, was an important day for the energy transition. After years of debate, the energy label for boilers became mandatory in Europe! The introduction is timely in light of the discussion on reducing the carbon footprint of the heating and cooling sector.
AHRI to present new refrigerant research findings
The first phase of the program concluded in December 2013. AHRI began a second phase in January 2014 to continue research in areas that were not previously addressed, including testing at high-ambient conditions, applications not considered in the first phase, and new refrigerants identified since the first phase. The program is managed by a technical committee reporting to the AHRI Executive Committee; the AHRI Research Department administers the program.
